I am not ready to run in the cold. By “not ready,” I mean I don’t have the clothing to run in the cold. I took the day off. At 32°F my running shorts were not going to cut it. I have long pants for riding from my time in Pittsburgh commuting, but nothing for a good run. With that being said, it is good to have a day off from your regular schedule every now and then.
My body has not really had many aches from muscle soreness (as I have mentioned earlier). But I feel that as I progress my flexibility should be an area of improvement. I am about get to an article in the book Triathlon Science on flexibility and strength training. I am sure the scientific benefits will be outlined there.
Not training has left me with very little to talk about but I wanted to keep up my rhythm with blogging. It’s not as if anyone is reading this story. However, I think it helps me to just get thoughts out of my head after a day of training. It also serves as a record of my journey.
By the end of this week I will have finished my 6th week of training. That is the halfway point of the plan I am using. By the end of the 12 weeks I’ll still be about 4 weeks out from the actual triathlon. I am hoping this allows me to adjust anything that is necessary in that time if I don’t feel ready. Either way, I will sign up and compete.
Alright, enough babbling. I guess it’s time to write Week 6, Day 3. Done (or missed).
